Viveve, Inc., founded in 2005, is a privately held women’s sexual health company based in Palo Alto, California. The company focuses on the development of a revolutionary, non-surgical, non-ablative medical device to remodel collagen and restore vaginal tissue. Viveve’s technology treats the condition of vaginal laxity, which is the result of stretching of the vaginal opening during childbirth. Women can experience a decrease in sexual function and physical sensation during intercourse because of this physical change, which may adversely impact her sexual health and quality of life.
The Viveve System uses patented, reverse-thermal gradient radio frequency (RF) technology to tighten the tissues around the vaginal introitus, or opening. Unlike surgical vaginal reconstruction procedures, the Viveve System can tighten vaginal tissue without incisions, tissue ablation, or anesthesia. In addition, the procedure requires only a 30-minute treatment in a physician’s office. Given the non-surgical nature of the procedure, there is no need for post-operative patient restrictions or lengthy recovery times.
Our goal is to offer the first clinically proven non-surgical treatment for vaginal laxity and to spark the conversation between women and their doctors about sexual health.
