How Does It Work?

The Viveve System is a medical device that uses controlled radiofrequency (RF) energy to generate low temperature heat and stimulate the body’s natural collagen rebuilding processes.

What Can I Expect During and After the Procedure?

The Viveve procedure requires no anesthesia and can be completed in about 30 minutes. At the beginning of the Viveve procedure, your doctor will insert a treatment tip about the size of your thumb just inside the vaginal opening. The tip is circumferentially moved around the opening, delivering pulses of heat to the collagen fibers that make up the underlying tissues, while also cooling the surface.

Vaginal tissue reacts to the heat by restoring and reproducing collagen fibers within the tissue1. This collagen restoration process takes place over time, usually between 30-90 days after the treatment, and perhaps longer. These changes occur on the cellular level, so there are no outward signs of change to the vaginal tissue.

Because the procedure is generally well-tolerated and doesn’t require anesthesia, there is little to no downtime – you can go back to your normal activities following the procedure.
